While the basic duties still stand—taking messages, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings—executive assistants are also often put in charge of supervising other clerical staff, reviewing incoming memos, and even conducting research and preparing statistical reports. Be confident, not arrogant.

Facing up to that was part of my reflection and review process. I’m calling it R&R Liz Style, Reflection & Review Liz Style and there’s three things you need to do. It’s all about reflecting and reviewing the year that was. She shared her process for end of year reflection and review process.
In addition to these tips, I highly recommend that you pay attention to two key tools in your administrative toolkit: your strategic career plan and your professional portfolio. If you already have a strategic career plan, I encourage you to pull it out and review it. How will a career change impact your plan?
