Getting off the train at Belfast Central Station I was slightly disappointed the weather was as wet and windy as Dublin, which was where I boarded the train. As there isn’t too much around the hotel itself (although within 10 minutes you are in the town centre) it was really handy having a cafe and restaurant on site.

The reception area leads on to the restaurant area and to a small bar space – The Consulting Room which serves cocktails and afternoon tea. I made my way up to the reception area, via some lovely shops, and was welcomed by two smiley members of staff, both of which were excellent. Westfield is also dangerously on the doorstep with loads of shops, restaurants and cafes. The customer service throughout my stay at the Staybridge was fantastic.

A lot of time is taken up with diary planning and liaising with the various companies that Ben works with. before checking my emails and heading for the train station at 7:50am. I usually arrive at 9.00am (trains dependent!) I finalised show flow and liaised with the restaurant and AV company in Cannes on the final details.

While you don’t see people smoking inside trains, smoking in restaurants, especially bars, is allowed. They do have designated smoking section, areas, or covered greenhouse looking structures too (near train stations or in sections of buildings to contain all the smoke). If the train is late, the time is wrong.
