Last week the results from the spring coworking space member survey were released at the Global Coworking Conference Unconference (GCUC). Emergent Research (that's us) partnered with GCUC and Jacob Sayles of Office Nomads on this study. The key finding is while coworking spaces are definitely workspaces, they are also much more. They are places where members work, network, learn and socialize together. In other words, coworking spaces are human spaces.
I’m going to make a bold statement here: In the field of professional development, I consider myself an expert. It’s not just because I’ve been writing this blog for over 5 years (any Joe-schmoe off the street can do this, you know!). Rather, it’s because I’ve immersed myself in the field—soaked up knowledge and applied it at a rapid pace. And these days, I really feel it’s paying off with a level of expertise few others possess.
No doubt you face problems on a daily basis. They can be as small as a printer jam or as big as your executive’s international trip is turning into a disaster due to bad weather. There are many methods people use to solve problems such as mind-mapping or brainstorming. But for larger issues or problems, you have to have a process to be more successful at making the right decision.

Forgetfulness is costing you time, money, and a ton of missed opportunities. In the age of automation, it’s easy to underestimate the power of a well-trained human mind. I added 550+ new subscribers in just FIVE days with this strategy. And, once you know exactly how to set this up, you can do this too. One of the best ways you can give your list building efforts a HUGE boost is to partner with other solopreneurs to create a giveaway event … also known as a joint venture (JV). If done right this strategy can literally add hundreds of new subscribers to your list in a very short period of time.

Typically, when we read about new businesses and entrepreneurs it’s all ‘this is the new Facebook’ or ‘how this business has really taken off in the last year’ and all too often, the media focus entirely on the glamour and success of entrepreneurism. But the life of an entrepreneur is by no means an entirely… Read the full article here: Why Startups Aren’t All They’re Cracked Up to Be and Why It Doesn’t Matter on: THE SMALL BUSINESS BLOG.
Are you one of the many assistants who claims you can’t attend a training course or even get away for a free webinar because you’re just too busy? We’ve witnessed firsthand hundreds, maybe thousands of assistants who take the time to get away for an hour, a day and sometimes a whole week to keep learning and growing their professional skillset.
If you think about some of the most famous brands across the globe they will all have a unique attribute that makes them stand out from their competitors be it Nike, Coca-Cola or Apple. We all know what the companies stand for. We also know what Oprah Winfrey stands for and we are all aware of brand Beckham so we know that individuals can also have strong personal brands.
Hosting your own Telesummit is the number one list-building strategy. In fact, if done correctly, a telesummit can add hundreds of new subscribers to your list, practically overnight. If you’re not sure what a Telesummit is, it’s simply a multi-teleclass event with a series of different speakers, and you’re the host and organizer of the event. As the host of the Telesummit, you then get to interview each speaker and they share their expertise with the telesummit attendees.
In the climb from contributor to leader, the rules quietly change. If you’re aiming for the summit, the air gets thinner—and what got you here won’t be enough to get you to the top (a concept first popularized by Marshall Goldsmith in his book What Got You Here Won’t Get You There ). What made you successful early in your finance career—technical accuracy, sharp analysis, flawless execution—won’t be what carries you to the next level.
Usually your office place is anything but “green”. You might think you don’t have that much control over what your office provides when it comes to sustainable living but that’s where you’d be wrong. There are dozens of eco-friendly office products that help you save the planet a little at a time. Here are three items that I couldn’t live without at work.
One of the more interesting findings from our recent survey of coworking members is how many reported they had learned new skills - or improved their existing skills - due to their coworking space membership: 69% of the respondents reported they learned new skills. 68% of the respondents reported they improved their existing skill set. The learning generally comes two ways.

The most overlooked, yet most critical, element of transformation is preparing people for change. Automation and AI aren't just technical upgrades, they’re cultural shifts which can challenge identities. That’s why change management isn’t a side project—it’s the foundation. In finance, where precision and process rule, navigating change can feel especially disruptive.
The word networking can strike fear, horror and / or joy into the best of us. Networking is without a doubt a valuable skill set and resource tool but for many it can involve going outside our comfort zone when confronted with the notion of chatting to a complete stranger. I won’t lie – I was feeling slightly daunted when faced with the prospect of attending the Gala Dinner Networking Event at Executive Secretary LIVE on my own.
You’ve done all the hard work in getting your blog site up and running… You’ve even got a sign-up box on every page of your site. Now all you need to do is get your web site visitors to part with their name and email address so that you can start and build your database of potential clients. But the question is … how do you get them to do this?
YouTube is great for sharing videos, but have you noticed that the image that appears when your video isn’t playing is hit or miss? Even if you’ve spent time designing that first frame, chances are that’s not the frame that ultimately gets chosen as it’s ‘resting face’( the more technical term is ‘thumbnail’). Thankfully there is an easy way to make that frozen frame appear the way you want it to.
Pew Internet's U.S. Smartphone Use in 2015 profiles American smartphone usage and the growing role that "smartphones play in helping Americans access, share, and create information and communicate with others." And while the growth of smartphones and smartphone usage is not new news, it's nice having detailed data illustrating it.
Retailers know the clock is ticking–legacy SAP Commerce support ends in 2026. Legacy platforms are becoming a liability burdened by complexity, rigidity, and mounting operational costs. When you talk about the most exciting startup scenes across Europe, the cities of London, Berlin and Stockholm are usually on the tips of most tongues while Hungary and its capital Budapest aren’t traditionally associated with the startup community. Do you know the purpose of your newsletter? It’s not so that you can spend hours and hours formatting some kind of pretty layout. Or agonizing over the right article to write. It’s simply a marketing tool for you to communicate with, and stay in front of, your subscribers and through it you share useful and relevant information. It doesn’t even need to be a full-length article; it can simply be a quick tip.
Documents are the backbone of enterprise operations, but they are also a common source of inefficiency. From buried insights to manual handoffs, document-based workflows can quietly stall decision-making and drain resources. For large, complex organizations, legacy systems and siloed processes create friction that AI is uniquely positioned to resolve.
Between meetings, emails, projects, reports and presentations, you might not think there’s room left in your work schedule for much else besides, well, work. You might want to reconsider, though, because a mid-day workout could be just what you need to power through your packed schedule. It might seem counter-intuitive to add yet another bullet point to your to-do list, but the benefits of exercise far outweigh the time it’ll take to reconfigure your daily agenda.

A portion of English speaking people, particularly in the USA, are feeling that French is becoming a redundant language in the business world. I had a full week last week as I spent 4 full days with 15 wonderful women from across the country. They came to Las Vegas to attend my World Class Assistant Part 1 and Part 2 high-end boot camp. They were an amazing group filled with energy, great ideas, and creativity. While 90% of them did not know each other, they bonded instantly. It was very gratifying for me to see the group gel and spend time with each woman who was uniquely gifted.

Our house move went smoothly, except for the cable/internet connection! Although the installation happened the week before we moved (I was trying to be super organized and not interrupt my work flow), it wasn’t until we actually moved in that everything started not to work, and I was without internet for three days last week! I had four technicians out in the space of less than a week and they finally got it fixed.
Recently, I was rushed to the hospital with the worst pain I'd ever experienced. Now recovering from emergent abdominal surgery, the hardest part of it all is the way my brain is working--or not working. It's still not up to teaching, or doing most of the things I love to do--including blogging. So I'm honoring its apparent need to have me rest. and will be taking some time away from Moxie.
