I found every single one of my jobs through a temping agency or by referral. But in reality – the most useful skill that opened a lot of doors for me were my soft skills. Your resume should always be able to reflect that you’ve kept up on the latest training and skills. Attend an event or sign up for an online class that really challenges you. Becoming too comfortable in your career and with your skills can set you up for problems if you suddenly find yourself out of work.
