When I teach my Star Achievement Series® classes, I ask participants, “What are some of the things co-workers do that make them “appear” to be dragons?” Here are the common responses I hear: Gossip. Avoid gossiping. Only when you decide to think and act independently will you progress toward your goal. Avoid complaining.

In order to effectively deal with the backstabbers, stubborn, mean-spirited, micromanagers, gossips, and the host of others that make the list, we must evaluate our own perceptions of these people. Approach the individual(s) in a manner that is appropriate to meet your objectives and goals. This means changing your attitude.

Olympia loved that at the beginning of the movie, the women could be seen as the beloved and well worn Southern female stereotypes – preoccupied with gossip, clothes, hair, flowers, and food. If you want a career change bad enough you'll find ways to do it without your boss' help - volunteering, doing your own projects on the side, taking a leadership role outside of work, but related to your career, reading on your own, taking classes in your spare time, meeting others in your same situation, etc.

The Attitude: The tango community can be quite the political, social, and gossip mega circle. I do encourage you to take at least one Argentine tango class.
