However, a good friend, Scot Shier recently purchased the CLIQ’s AT&T brethren, the Motorola Droid. I did not want to sacrifice call quality by switching to AT&T for their iPhone (though I was tempted). I also have not set up any of my 8 email accounts on the DROID (again, I am moving slowly). DROID has it.

I mean, managing a project is supposed to be complicated, isn’t it? GANTT charts are all well and good (don’t get me wrong, I love them and am a big supporter of them in my work) however they do not suit everybody, or indeed every project. I had no idea this could be done, but I was thrilled when I got her email, but it just proved to me once again that we are all holding on to things we take for granted that others know about. The tip she sent me was how to edit an email that you have received. Close out of the email and you will be asked to Save the changes.

For years I’ve been a champion of steering clear of email when you’re trying to manage your tasks. Now I wouldn’t say that I’ve seen the light of day and realized that you can use any email app as a to do list – far from it. There are plenty of reasons why you wouldn’t want to use any old email app in that way.

He can ignore e-mails, but it is hard to ignore me :) When you are copied on an e-mail, read the whole message, don’t just skim it. If you are sent an email with a request to do something either asap or later, did you do it or have you diarized it to do it later? I also use Tasks in Outlook to follow up on electronic items.

but I don't use that system or know what the colours mean. One person who uses this system all the time couldn't figure out why I didn't know that purple on her private appointment meant she was out of the office -- huh! Use that feature to set reminders (which everyone uses it for anyway). Another one I never use.
