The million-dollar question centers around the needs and preferences of this cohort, born between 2010 and today. Work environments will need to incorporate elements like quiet zones, outdoor spaces, and ergonomic workstations, making mental health a core feature of office design.
It’s not an exaggeration to say that from 1980 to 2010 it was IT networks rather than human networks that drove the design of office space. However, when mobile technologies, WiFi and the cloud began to converge between 2010 and 2020, we entered into a transitional state that set the stage for the transition we’re currently experiencing.
