I wasn’t there to say hello, get in “good” with the higher ups, network, or gawk at any famous people that might have been there. I wasn’t there to socialize or go out of my way to point out I was a temp to try to get a full-time job.

I'm temping. Luckily, all my temping experiences have also been amazing so I've actually enjoyed my job hunt and gotten a lot out of it. And that's just the thing. I have a great career, but I don't have a full-time staff position right now. I have turned down the Fortune 75 companies because the two jobs weren't right for me.

The shortest route is to look for temp work thru agencies or TaskRabbit, Craiglist, or volunteer. Think about all of this before you start asking people for help or when you network. Your best bet is to get some experience in admin and being an EA thru temping or other contract work. Network 2-3 degrees out for opportunities.
