Then, you need to assign tasks to each goal, where you break the goal down into manageable chunks. Narrow them down to the amount that you can manage (usually 3 - 5), but some people can do more or less. Having a to-do list can be very helpful in accomplishing your tasks, but also setting goals. Next, add a time frame to each task.

Ive tried to exhaust all the possible things I could do that he doesnt ask me to do - organize emails, files, clutter, contacts, create procedures. Thats how I get things done around my office, since I work for about 30 staff, which includes 5 managers. to the president, 3 VPs, and the HR manager. and he never does.

I started with helping at a drop-in centre at a Salvation Army location, where other colleagues and one of my managers would serve lunch to people that were down on their luck. Then I would create worksheets within each sheet with headings such as: Name Time of Call Reason for Call If you work for more than one manager or you need to track calls for more than one person, you might want to create a heading that states something like "Person Receiving Call" or something along the lines of this.

The only reason we have file folders within hanging file folders is that if we need to present files to a client or to a manager, we can take the entire file folder with that information to the client or manager. It just looks more professional.

I had no idea this could be done, but I was thrilled when I got her email, but it just proved to me once again that we are all holding on to things we take for granted that others know about. The tip she sent me was how to edit an email that you have received. Close out of the email and you will be asked to Save the changes.
