Alright, well, I know he emailed me to let me know I had a broken link in a post. And I know he was interested in what that link led to, which made me think well of him, so I emailed him back. In less than 5 emails, in fact. This is perhaps my most important rule of thumb, whether writing books, blog posts, or emails.

If you have quality content and the marketing prowess to promote it, then by all means charge. Some bloggers feel they are entitled to payment regardless of the quality of their content.

Email the owners and offer to guest post or to do an interview. As a virtual assistant, I tend to market and promote my services to my niche customer. Then find 3 or 4 blogs for each of those niches. Stay branded as whoever you are! If you’re Dick the Cupcake Maker, then be that guy. Start leaving comments. I like that.

Travelling Alone Of course, you have companions. Maybe you take part in online forums or swap your work with friends by email. and promoting yourself in the marketplace! You get these really great emails to help cheer you along. Then the email drops through the box. But you carry on. The clouds start to lift.

I don’t care how you do it, campus, traveling or from home, but you WILL go. Sonya – I do have to admit that most people who email me their resume and quote an English degree tend to have some of the worst writing in the world… Not sure why that is, actually. You will go to CEGEP, then University. Wish I knew.

I was also able to promote a task to a project in Assess. I also added a Help and FAQ section. Promoting An iPhone App If you’re an independent developer, you gotta take into account the promotion part. I won’t cover the details of promoting my app in this post, it will take too long. Loads of bugs.
