The evolution of the administrativeprofessional is a development process that not only provides growth for the individual, but also for the industry. By 2024, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects employment for administrative assistants will increase by 8 percent.
I went through most of my career unaware that we as admin assistants had a professional association. Since I have become a member of IAAP I don't know why I didn't join before. At this time of celebrating AdministrativeProfessionals' week, check out joining your local professional association for your own career development.
I am a member of the International Association of AdministrativeProfessionals (IAAP). As part of my membership I get a subscription to IAAP's magazine OfficePro and also to their e-newsletter OfficePro Express. Both of these are excellent sources of information for the administrative assistant.
