The most important thing is to take action and do something different so you can get promoted, get better tasks, that raise, or transition to a different role, dept, company, or industry. Even asking to intern, shadow, or be mentored by someone well respected is a great first step. Almost every job has an admin element to it.

If this new executive is high-profile in your industry or field, I am sure by reading articles about them or talk of the town, what you wrote above is again, pretty accurate. Don’t automatically assume because the package looks good or the job sounds great on paper you will like it. Job hunting and dating are very similar.
