Here is some common-sense etiquette: Screen your calls: Subscribe to call display. There is a good purpose for them and they are definitely useful in a business setting. However, I think our etiquette hasnt caught up with the technology. I usually snap my fingers and say "Hey, over here!" We joke about it, but it is distracting.

More and more firms are allowing their employees to blog, whether it be internal or external. Internal blogging refers to employees writing blogs that are stored on an intranet or company server. This is definitely good for sharing ideas and skills among teammates and other departments.

What is the proper etiquette when addressing or writing to a President? Here is a video link on the proper etiquette to address a President. Everyone up here calls him Obama and our Prime Minister is called Harper. Why do we not use their full name? Or it is that we just dont know how to address them so revert to last names?

Do you ever get a meeting request and an agenda has not been provided, or if it is a teleconference the call-in details have not been given or the boardroom hasnt been booked for an internal meeting? Whose responsibility is it anyway? When booking meetings ownership of the meeting has to be established. 411 Look Up 411.ca

If I am told that I should have it in the next few weeks, or can expect to receive it in a couple of months, that doesn’t really help me with my follow up as it is not a definite date. I can only guess when I might get it. I would prefer they say you will have it by March 4th. That I can track. Dates are important. 411 Look Up 411.ca
