I also handle his executive calendar and work in the office with him. I started this blog while temping/job hunting and I was allowed to write or do personal side projects as long as it was not interfering with my work. Outside of work, I started to take classes at night (and even on the weekends).

Other jobs, because they were temp to full time, I didn’t even have the benefits of paid vacation time or paid sick days for almost a year. It always perplexes me when small companies do not hire a temp or have in mind another staff person to fill in for the admin or EA to go on a vacation or call in sick.

Right now I just put things on his calendar and order food. And as I was working, job hunting and/or temping, I had to find other sources of happiness. I would rather go to a pilates studio that has classes late at night that fits my work hours vs going to a gym that only costs $30 a month. Many people think working at a t.v.
