What do emotional intelligence and travel planning have in common? I have been traveling extensively for business (and a little pleasure) for 3 straight months. I have been a business traveler for 27 years. While the typical person thinks traveling is glamorous, the business traveler has a different perspective.

The view looked amazing, as did his life for that past decade—dressed in a tuxedo and white gloves while working on a six-star cruise ship in Antarctica; suntanned and smiling after a day of surfing in Puerto Escondido, Mexico; and looking giddy in love on a beach in Colombia with his now-wife, Mandy, whom he met halfway through his travels.

We have been hosting our World Class Assistant™ high-end workshops in Las Vegas since 2005 at the beautiful Red Rock Country Club. Bring clothes that you can change into later. Keep in mind that I am usually dressed in a business pant suit or skirt suit when I give presentations or conduct workshops.

We traveled, bought a Jet Ski, joined a volleyball league, threw parties and regularly met friends for dinner and drinks. Besides the opportunity to buy some new school clothes and get a pair of new shoes, I absolutely loved learning. Little did I know, my dad would pass away from cancer at age 54—years before my first son was born.

My initial thought (months out) was that I would take my time and pack over several weekends; meaning just pulling some clothes here and there or shoes and beach attire so I wouldn’t be rushed at the last minute. Some words of advice, if you are traveling soon for vacation. Most likely, you will never wear them.

The only place that I can find quality clothes that fit me is at Talbots. When you purchase quality clothing, it lasts longer so you actually spend less money over a 6 year period. You may have to travel a little ways out of your community to find a store that better fits your budget and your body. You are right.
