Possibly behind that couch in the corner, the one buried under boxes and old clothes. Now, my theory is that King didn’t get to write pretty darn good stuff every single time he sat down at the table just because he was genetically gifted with brilliance. I do feel much more comfortable with a keyboard than hand though.

When I am putting together an editing report or when I am fact-checking – I often work on books that match subject areas I studied. Going back to school was the best gift I could give myself. Alas, that’s not going to happen, so books will have to do. Years later, I run an editing and writing business.

Elizabeth Gilbert, who wrote a book called Eat, Pray Love , once gave a TED speech that suggested creative people are pretty emotionally twisted. Just once in a while… I find I have those moments as well, and if you’re not right there with the pen or the keyboard, then you’ve lost it. Do you think that’s true? Definitely.
