It is a lovely part of Geneva with lots of shops, restaurants and cafes nearby. The super-fast Wifi certainly did the trick and I was able to catch up on everything Practically Perfect PA related. The Swiss Luxury Apartments really do stand up to their name. Advertised minimum rate per night is 550 CHF (October 2014).

After many many years of booking business travel to Houston for my Executives I finally got to travel there myself in January 2014. The oil and gas industry weaves its power and money through the city and I must admit I thought Houston would be made up of lots of impressive skyscrapers and activities designed for middle aged businessmen.

The Nadler Soho is located just off Soho Square which is pretty much in the centre of London’s West End with its theatres, restaurants, bars and shops all within walking distance. Around these parts hotels are pretty expensive (sometimes unreasonably so) but The Nadler is what you would call a hidden gem.

We had asked for a twin room but instead the two mattresses that made up the king size bed had been unzipped and pulled slightly apart. Similar to a lot of spa hotels the Nutfield’s Cloister restaurant offers a three course meal (£38 per head) as part of the weekend package rates. Good thing I was staying with my mum!

I manage his schedule and monitor his emails, as well as help organise some of his travel, company events, and client dinners, occasional research, expenses and ad hoc tasks – all the general PA duties. My alarm goes off at 05:30 and I usually hit snooze twice before actually getting up. An ideal schedule would be: MORNING.

During my time in Geneva it certainly hadn’t escaped my notice that Geneva is an expensive city: you can’t really escape it (unless you spend all of your time hanging around the central train station). I had spent three days in Geneva and was well aware that everything is ridiculously expensive.

A massive family trip to Mexico, where I still kept up with my journalling habit and my routines along the way. Dixit , Tokaido , Ticket to Ride , and Hanabi were just a small sampling of what showed up that month. We had a great (albeit expensive) time. It took much longer than anticipated. MUCH longer. I turned 41. Good times.
