Yesterday I had a very special experience in as much that I was kindly asked – thanks to Phyllis Mercer – to be a guest judge at the Year 2 BTEC National Business Course for their business plans. During the course of the day I listened to 16 business plans, I was supposed to be a bank manager (!)

Have been on a sage course to consider doing our accounts in house and have to say I found the package so involved that I don’t think its cost effective time wise. If doing your accounts is going to tie up a lot of your time and you are a small outfit, wouldn’t it be more profitable to outsource, even if you could do it yourself.

You can buy all the books, and read all the blogs, but starting your own business is something that has to be driven by you; your drive, enthusiasm and vision for you business.
