The pink box is generally used for, well…doodling. This is my email app of choice , and it’s cross-platform. Agenda Calendar. I date them in the upper left grey box, write things down in the white space, and then use the lower grey box to mark the “Processed into task manager” date. I’ve written at length about this app.
