Wave IV of the Network Solutions Small Business Success Index was released today. I will be participating in a Tweet Chat discussing the survey results this wednesday (September 15th) from 1:00pm to 2:30pm ET.
Click here for more information and to register.
Key results from the Small Business Success Index include:
Small business competitiveness continues to erode: 54% of small businesses are failing or marginally failing compared to 47% a year ago. The strain of continued economic turmoil and reduced demand have hit the small business sector hard.
But the outlook is improving: 75% of the respondents expect to have equal or higher revenue as last year and only 14% expect to show a loss for 2010 (58% expect to have a profit and 28% expect to break even). All of these are better than the 2010 expectations data from the prior survey, which was done late last year.
Successful small businesses are leveraging social media and technology: the SBSI results continue to show that technology and social media help many small businesses thrive despite the challenging economic conditions.
We will covering these topics as the other top 10 survey findings in the Tweet Chat. I look forward to tweeting with you on wednesday.

Every business is now into social media and that's a great move in the industry now. That's a good sign in improving in the midst of economic problems.
