Over the last few years there are plenty more online communities and in more recent times we have taken networking to a whole new level with local networks, organised by assistants, springing up all over the place. Meeting other assistants who work near by, who share the same suppliers, hotels, restaurants etc. It is brilliant!
If you answered positively then yes you would be correct I think using social media for your professional development and networking is an absolute must! Do share links and interesting articles you have read as this is a great way to interact with your network and provide support for others. That must however does come with a big but!
You can follow and connect with other Assistants, clients, colleagues, suppliers, brand ambassadors and influencers. By doing this you will become aware of what is going on in your industry & profession, potential training / conferences, networking associations, publications to read, awards to enter etc. The world is your oyster.
There were many free training sessions for assistants to attend and the exhibitors were all relevant suppliers to the industry which again is not always the case with these types of events! I took a few pictures, posted them on Facebook and also on Twitter. I will share my new found knowledge with my network.
