Median CEO Pay Rose By 7.7% Last Year

What’s going on: Research firm Equilar published a study on Wednesday that examined 100 CEOs who raked in the highest earnings amongst U.S. public companies earning a revenue of $1 billion or more, and whose financial disclosures were recorded as of the 31st of March. Despite a turbulent year marked by an 18% dip in the S&P 500 and an economic slowdown fueled by the Federal Reserve’s rate hikes, CEOs managed to come out on top with impressive pay gains.

Around a quarter of jobs will shift over the next five years, WEF report claims

Almost a quarter of jobs are expected to switch in the next five years according to a new report from the World Economic Forum. Its Future of Jobs Report for 2023 suggests that employers anticipate 69 million new jobs to be created and 83 million eliminated among the 673 million jobs corresponding to the dataset, a net decrease of 14 million jobs, or 2 percent of current employment.
