In a nutshell Paper by 53 is a very simple app that lets you take notes, write checklists, doodle, draw, write over photos and screenshots. If you are quite visual the app is great because of how easy it is to use for doodles and if you prefer a little more structure the ability to quickly turn any note into a checklist is brilliant.

Stash your other projects in folders in a file holder on your desk. Keep your work area spare. lt’s tempting to keep current projects out to remind you of them, but that takes your attention away from the thing you’re working on. That way they’re within reach but out of sight. Keep them out of your current work area on the desk. .

I found the list in my ‘things to keep’ file the other day and thought I would share it with you all. Recycle scrap paper for notes / doodling etc. The list is fairly obvious to me and probably everyone now, but at the time it was quite thought provoking… 1. Recycle any waste paper using the bins provided.

Notebooks – I have one hard back A4 notebook for meetings and one A5 scrapbook for scribbles, doodles and messy thoughts. Files – see my previous blog on my filing system. It can be used to help reading data, drawing a straight line, measuring something and keeping naughty colleagues in check! Office Equipment.

He would often turn up to meetings without the correct supporting papers or they would have doodles all over them, which didn’t help his reputation. He was very self reliant so he didn’t want me to touch his unique filing system. I would pop the file on his desk so that he had everything he needed for the following morning.
