Assistants want a title upgrade

What's in a name? In today's increasingly virtual and digital workplace, the 'assistant' job title is feeling out-dated and repellent to long suffering staffers. The "assistant" moniker of yesteryear is now evolving into titles such as “strategic business partners,” “administrative leads” and “management associates.” The new titles reflect a desire to break away from past stereotypes and to acknowledge the increased expectations these jobs now demand. Workers formerly known as assistants now also commonly draw on skills that lead to higher-up roles such as division head or chief of staff.
